The Weekend Promise

Gaza. Syria. Lybia. Iraq. Egypt . Yemen.

Is your head spinning yet? Mine sure is, I write about strife and blood lust encompassing these nations for a living. But sanity must be maintained for far too many reasons to count. With that in mind, I hereby publicly promise, and you should promise yourself the same as you read, to reconnect with the soul this weekend.

I hereby promise to watch a movie that will tickle my funny bone- not break one.

I hereby promise to hug my nearest and dearest.

I hereby promise not to read more than 20 articles a day (not crossing my fingers either).

I hereby promise to start on that fun John Grisham novel I have been meaning to read .

I hereby promise to smell a flower, pet a cat, and not get fat .

About Amr Khalifa

An analyst, a political comentator on the uber complex Egyptian and MENA scene. I may not have every answer but I know the questions to ask. When not publishing in Ahram Online, Mada Masr, Daily News Egypt and Muftah I love the dynamic of the short story. If you adore the written word you have come to the right place. Pull up a chair and join me for a cup of literary tea.
