‘He is resisting a cold’ is a phrase you typically hear as the snowfalkes nip at your nose in the heart of winter. But n Palestine it is a different sort of resistance that is at the core of the survival of a corageous Palestinian population.
The picture is that of a boy, likely no more than 3 years old, surrounded only by muzzles of machine guns- but there is something more powerful than guns here : his defiance.
Israel wages an asymetric warfare against a population whose only crime is being Palestinian. To call this tragic is a belitteling of the plight of the populous. Yet, Im heartened: it is that defiance that will carry a corageous people through.
Look at that little boy and understand ‘we have nothing to fear but fear itself’ in a new light.
Look. Understand. Pray.
