Sisi is not a fan of Hamas. So the mainstream Egyptian narrative has been: ‘ Its too bad about those 300 Palestinians killed but if Hamas wasnt so intransigent they would be alive now.’ Fortunately, there are many Egyptians who arent drinking from ultra nationalist cup. As I type these words 6 large buses trudge their way through the Egyptian landscape on their way to Gaza with desperately needed supplies & medicine..
Sometimes the lies that governments spray dont touch every soul and the humanity and brotherhood that unites us with our Palestinian brethren shines through. When it is darkest, that is when the human within must shine through: a salute to the Egyptian actvists & may their ranks grow.
